The Boys are Fighting!

Okay, having two boys, I never thought I'd have to say this, but my kids have been fighting over the baby doll! Of course, they both want to play with the baby. I told my mom about it and she found one of our old cabbage patch kids. Great solution - two boys, two babies. Guess what? Nobody wants that other baby. Apparently it is just not as good. So they continue to squabble. Boys, what can you do? It's funny because this past week the baby and cooking have been two of the daily "games" we've played. I just love having boys!

Luke has started to parrot EVERYTHING we say. Every word, he repeats it right back. Fun, yes, until my brother decided to test this... Yes, Luke repeats everything...

Today he decided to build a tower of blocks. This is really the first time he has built anything and check out the tower he made! Could be we have another engineer in the family. The funny thing was he got a bunch of blocks from the basket and carried them all to the table. Then when he used those up he looked at me and said "More blocks, mommy". So I fetched him blocks as he worked on his masterpiece.

I also let the boys paint a picture together this morning. They actually did pretty good sharing the canvas, although Calvin's painting took up about 75% of the page and Luke's a small corner, but neither one cared so neither did I. Luke only painted one stripe on Calvin's clothes and only licked a little bit of paint off the brush... He's getting better...

I just love how they are at the point where they actually can play and do things together. It makes having two close together totally worth it!

That is so funny because when my mother-in-law gave Ayden a baby for Christmas, Tate wanted one too. So now they both have their 'babies' and they play babies together. She also got them a little kitchen so they also play cooking together. Your house sounds like mine!!!

That's great! We are nearly in the same situation here, except for it's pink bunnies instead of babies. Yes, my son sleeps with his pink bunny every night. "She" is by his side all day and he would take her anywhere, if I'd let him. I think Seth has finally gotten over the fact that it is pink, and a bunny. I love that you let them paint together. I don't have the courage to set that up yet. I can just imagine the mess...

What an architect! Loved the painting together pic. It's great the boys are doing their fatherly duties early.
